Partridge Heritage YL2A Captain Hamilton Wet has a rich and lustrous heritage!

Who was Captain Hamilton?

He was a Scot who emigrated to New Zealand in about 1860.  He fished regularly over there for trout stocked in a nearby river in the mid-1870's to an average weight of over 2lbs!

In 1904 Captain Hamilton published a book "Trout Fishing and Sport in Maoriland."  Shortly thereafter he approached Hardy's for them to supply a new range of hooks for the large trout of New Zealand.

The main features of thie pattern were;

• Almost perfect round bend
• Needle point with neat barb
• Wider gape to take large "bite" and hold the fish better.
